Business Challenge

The Challenges faced by Existing environment

  • The Captiva systems are with the latest versions Open Text Documentum Captiva Capture 16.6.
  • The latest versions came with major performance and bug fixes.
  • The new version of Captiva has lot of security enhancements. One of the enhancements is the way the users are created and provided access to the Captiva application. 
  • Existing environment is using three processes in production which have the source code. This makes it possible for any bug fixes and any future enhancements.
  • The current process maintenance&support source code in the new Captiva Web Client. So, a complete implementation of all the three processes from scratch in the new version.
  • The new version Captiva 16.6 supports the automatic deletion of completed tasks which will ease the administration work.
  • Currently all the integrations with the third-party applications are developed independently inside the system.
  • Below are the new features of New Captiva Capture Web Client:

    1. Single Screen for both Scanning and Indexing
    2. User can scan and index documents in single screen without navigation to multiple URLs.
    3. Enhanced Image Process features for better image quality
    4. HTML5 web client to avoid issues with ActiveX controls.
    5. Supports chrome browser for better performance.
    6. Automatic removal of blank pages in the documents

  • Captiva Capture Web Client Activities:
  • Captiva new user creation and assigning access right for e-scan & e-index
  • Monitoring Captiva Advance export tool for maintaining idle traffic for smooth scan and index
  • Troubleshooting Scanning & indexing issues.
  • Monitoring FTP Managers on multiple Servers.
  • Analysis and Fixing of any production system related issues.
  • Monitor and kill user sessions

Solutions Offered

  • The scope includes both support and development activities, as a “Captiva Capture Support Project”.
  • Handled day to day production maintenance activities and supported any immediate production issues.
  • Any minor development and integration activities which will not consume much time (as support activates should go in parallel) were Handled.
  • Handled new requirements by analyzing and providing actual project design and time lines taking into support activities into consideration.
  • Managed to handle production related issues and developments.
  • Managed Captiva Capture Web Client related issues.
